Stopping sexual violence key to help slow AIDS epidemic: Activist May 10, 2013
Jonathan Migneault, Sudbury StarThe Foundation’s Board of Directors share a wealth of involvement in HIV/AIDS and a significant understanding of the African context. They help to develop and oversee the implementation of the fundamental principles, rationale, policies and operations of the Foundation.
The Directors do not get an honorarium for their participation on the Board.
We express our deepest thanks to Roy McMurtry for his stellar commitment to the Foundation and to the grassroots organizations in Africa.
Roy McMurtry served on the Foundation’s Executive Board from June 2007-2011. His wisdom, garnered over decades as an Ontario cabinet minister and then Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Appeal, was not only invaluable but always offered up with warmth and humour.
Roy has made hugely significant contributions to marginalized people, race relations, higher education and justice for youth. We were fortunate to benefit from his commitment to social justice through his work on our Executive. The Board, its members, executive and the staff of the Foundation will miss his active presence but will continue to cherish his association with the Foundation as a friend and advisor.
